Following an agreement being reached between Essex County Council and UBB Waste (Essex) Limited (UBB) in relation to the design, construction and operation of the mechanical and biological waste treatment facility, otherwise known as Tovi Eco park in Basildon, Essex, UBB have agreed to close, clean, safety proof and demolish the facility before handing back the Environmental Permit to the Environment Agency.
Following a pause in physical works on-site as a result of the former demolition subcontractor having gone into liquidation, a replacement specialist demolition subcontractor has now been appointed and works will shortly recommence with the demolition of the remaining sections of the facility programmed to be completed by the end of 2024. Further updates will be provided on this website as these works progress.
