An exciting and engaging Visitor Centre will be available for community use

Local people will benefit from a state of the art Education & Visitor Centre, offering something for everybody.

Ground floor: Information centre and wifi cafe, community meeting room, toilets and a laboratory for schools or research.

First floor: Two large classrooms.

Second floor: Another classroom/resource area, as well as a very large exhibition space, with viewing galleries for people to see into the reception building, the conveyor zone and the maturation hall.

Outdoor area: Large garden space for amenity and education, with a shelved lagoon for sitting or group teaching.

The facility will add value for all members of the community, including:

  • Educational tours, courses and workshops on the 4Rs, climate change and sustainability.
  • Space for community meetings and events, wildlife and outdoor amenity.
  • Business network events and meeting spaces.
  • Annual community arts show and science challenge.

The use of the space will be limited only by imagination, but as a local educational, business, conference and training resource it will have huge value to Basildon and neighbouring communities.
